Dear Arfin,

Thank you for signing the petition telling India's government officials to enforce laws banning manual scavenging.

Tell your friends: end the practice of manual scavenging in India! »

Manual scavenging requires Indian workers to move others' waste with their hands. The stench and toxicity of human feces is more than inhumane-- it's often fatal. We cannot allow this illegal practice to continue.

Ask your friends to tell India's government officials to enforce laws banning manual scavenging. You can send your friends a message with our tell-a-friend tool, post the petition to your Facebook profile, tweet it or copy and send the sample message below:

Hey!

I recently signed this petition telling India's government officials to enforce laws banning manual scavenging!

http://www.care2.com/go/z/e/AGtcC/zMds/BxYn9

Manual scavenging requires Indian workers to move others' feces with their bare hands. This disturbing practice has become a daily reality for far too many Indian adults and children.

Besides being completely humiliating for any human, manual scavenging creates an unhealthy environment for all involved. The toxic gases and stench Indians must endure have caused countless health problems and often lead to death due to breathing problems.

Children as young as ten say they started drinking just to avoid getting sick during work. They're taught that without alcohol as a crutch, it is impossible to live through the experience of scavenging.

We need to save Indian workers from a lifetime of this inhumane work. Tell India's government officials to enforce laws banning manual scavenging!

Thanks for taking action!
