Lead is a neurotoxin, meaning it damages the brain and nervous system. The tests also found cadmium and arsenic at levels that cause cancer and lifelong health problems. This crisis isn't just a tragedy — it's a glaring injustice. The United States has strict protections against this kind of pollution on its own soil, yet it allows steel companies to ship their toxic waste to Mexico, leaving families to bear the cost with their health and lives. A starving dog died in its own waste, neglected by its owner

We must protect other pets from this owner. A Florida Dog Was Neglected Until It Died Locked in a Crate, Lying in Its Own Waste Sign Now    Arfin, Baby was a 13-year-old Yorkshire Terrier. We don't know exactly what kind of life Baby lived, but we know how the poor pup died: in a home in Florida, surrounded by urine and feces, locked inside a waste-filled crate. Three other dogs were in the home, also locked up in crates, and just barely surviving. Mossy was only 2 years old, but she was already on the edge of death. When authorities found her, she was severely emaciated, and lying down in her own feces. She was so weak, she couldn't even stand up. Her fellow dogs, 4-year-old Sig and approximately 6-year-old Ruger, were in a similar state. There was no water or food anywhere. Authorities have since arrested the man for animal cruelty and deprivation of care.
