Arfin,
Right-wing provocateur Candace Owens feels personally offended by other people's bodies. Her solution? She thinks everyone should fat-shame people.
This is a frightening and cruel suggestion. Spewing vitriol against other people because of their bodies is discrimination, pure and simple!

In her latest video on the topic, Owens complains of the "dangers of fat acceptance" and claims that it's supposedly "good to feel shame."
But actually, shame is highly dangerous, contributing to deadly threats including eating disorders, body dysmorphia, self-harm, and even suicidal behaviors.
Eating disorders already plague approximately 28 million Americans. According to the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD):
"Eating disorders are among the deadliest mental illnesses, second only to opioid overdose. 10,200 deaths each year are the direct result of an eating disorder--that's one death every 52 minutes. About 26% of people with eating disorders attempt suicide."
Just because Candace Owens can't handle that other people are willing to treat themselves with kindness of self-compassion, doesn't mean she should be promoting self-hatred and toxic shame.
