The poor animals were literally trapped in their own feces — as well as in trash and other debris — when authorities arrived.   But the dogs' owner could not be found, so police issued a warrant for his arrest. When officers finally found the owner, they also found 14 more dogs crammed into his SUV, again living in absolute squalor. This means the man and his wife are responsible for abusing and neglecting nearly 50 dogs in total. Clearly, these people should never be allowed to own another animal again in the future, period. But as of right now, their possible prohibition from owning or possessing other pets is pending the outcome of the case.
