By the time authorities arrived, they found the dog trying its best to survive. It was — miraculously — still upright, staggering around. But they could already see he had a severe wound on his head. A veterinarian confirmed someone had shot it right in its head. Unfortunately, the dog wasn't able to live. Its injuries were simply too severe.
Authorities were able to identify the owner, who was also the gunsman and the same man who had been beating the dog earlier. The man even confessed, saying: "he was angry that the dog had bit the other dog and his girlfriend, so he got the gun and shot the dog."
The man has been charged with animal abuse, but authorities need to immediately ensure he does not have access to any other animals.
