Ojnare Forest is Sweden's last ancient forest. It should be perserved as a national park, not sacrificed to a mining company for profits.

Dear Arfin,

Travel to the Ojnare Forest on the Swedish island of Grotland and you will see a host of plants and animals that exist nowhere else on earth. But you'll have to go soon if you don't want to miss it.

Tell Sweden's government to oppose destructive limestone mining in Ojnare Forest.

This rare ecosystem -- Sweden's last ancient forest -- is founded on limestone bedrock. It was originally slated to become a national park. But the mining company Nordkalk would rather use it to make heaps of profits from a massive limestone quarry. Worse, the government could go along with their idea.

The quarry would not only ruin large areas of forest, it would also pollute the adjacent wetlands, putting the survival of the whole region at risk. Letting Ojnare Forest go would set a terrible precedent for protecting the rest of Sweden's wilderness.

Don't let the government put private profits before the preservation of the public's natural resources. Tell the government to protect Ojnare Forest.
