Arfin,
The fast fashion company Shein is a billion-dollar corporation, famous for its low prices and wide variety of clothing options. It's also infamous for its horrible environmental practices, polluting the Earth with toxic chemicals and overproduction.
But it's not just hurting the environment. It's also hurting its workers -- to the point of violating Chinese labor laws.
An undercover investigator with the U.K. Channel 4 team revealed shocking and inhumane labor conditions. Shein forced workers in China to toil for 18 hours a day -- with just 1 day off in an entire month.
On top of that, they're paid almost nothing. Workers earn around $0.04 per garment. If they make even one mistake, managers revoke two-thirds of their wages for the day.
Meanwhile, Shein posted $15.7 billion in revenue in 2021 alone and Shein's founder, Chris Xu, is now a billionaire.
All that money was built on the backs of these laborers. But is Shein willing to share that money with the people who ACTUALLY make the corporation profitable? No. Or at least -- not yet.
But with your help, we can convince Xu and his company to do the right thing.
Sign the petition to demand that Shein ensure all its workers have safe, healthy working conditions as well as a fair living wage!
