This time, it was a 15-year-old mare named Lady, who collapsed at a Manhattan intersection in the sweltering summer heat. Sadly, Lady's death is not an isolated incident. Just two years ago, a horse named Ryder collapsed, sparking outrage that led to Ryder's Law — a bill that would phase out horse-drawn carriages in NYC by June 2026.
