Dear Arfin,

The Rohingya people are persecuted in their homeland, Myanmar. Many brave families take the incredible risk to flee and thus save lives and build a better future, but if they get to Thailand, they're simply deported.

Tell Thailand to change the policy and accept Rohingya asylum seekers.

If a boat of refugees comes to close to Thai officials may give them necessary supplies, so long as they move on to Malaysia or Indonesia. But if they hit land, Thai officials deport them by land. Many of these people wind up in smugglers' hands and are forced into labor.

Recently, a boat of carrying 73 people -- including 20 young children -- fell victim to the policy. Officials knew the people were weak and their boat damaged, but they were still deported just one day after hitting land.

These people have endured enough hardship and simply want a chance at a better life. Thailand shouldn't make this dream harder.

Tell Thailand to change policy and grant asylum to Rohingya refugees.
