Happy Earth Day! | Administrative Professional's Day | You can do it all at Care2 – including support great causes! | Tell Obama to Reject the Keystone XL! | The U.S. State Department has released their revised report on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline -- and it downplays the overall effect of the tar sands on our climate. In the weeks since the report came out, there have been two tar sands spills in the United States, including one that poured 84,000 gallons of tar sands into Arkansas backyards. With stakes this high, there is no excuse for the White House to approve Keystone XL. Join us and submit your public comment in opposition to the Keystone XL pipeline!

| Hi Arfin, Send your Care2 Earth Day eCards today! DID YOU KNOW? Senator Gaylord Nelson chose April 22 as the designated date for Earth day in order to maximize participation on college campuses for what he conceived as an "environmental teach-in." He determined the week of April 19-25 was the best bet; it did not fall during exams or spring breaks, did not conflict with religious holidays such as Easter or Passover, and was late enough in spring to have decent weather. More students were likely to be in class, and there would be less competition with other mid-week events. Send an Earth Day eCard » | |
