In Poland, security forces harrass environmentalists and right-wing media call them "eco-terrorists." The government needs to back off.
Dear Arfin,
Working for clean air, clean water and less fossil fuel pollution is a difficult and admirable pursuit. But in Poland, working to protect the environment can get you labeled an "eco-terrorist."
Tell the Polish Government to stop harassment of environmental activists.
It's not out of character for Poland to get in the way of protecting the environment. The country has a history of blocking EU initiatives on reducing carbon emissions and currently gets nearly all of its energy from fossil fuels.
But that's no excuse for using security forces to harass environmentalists or allow the right-wing media to to use incredibly inflammatory and ridiculous language.
Environmentalists and the Polish government both want the same things: a better future for their country. Government officials need to step back and remember that.
Tell Polish officials to back off environmentalists and work together to improve the country and the planet.
