Join us! | | Dear Arfin, The US Presidential campaign may be over, but Care2 members never stop fighting! Here are a few of the successes we celebrated last month: Dangerous Auto Legislation Derailed Insurance companies in California tried to change a long-standing consumer protection law without voters' knowledge. Luckily, Care2 members stood up to them, and insured drivers remain protected from the unsafe car parts that threaten vehicle safety and value. Read more. | Costa Rica Bans Shark Finning The government of Costa Rica recently enacted a law that bans all elements of shark finning within its borders, including the transportation and importation of fins from other countries. Hopefully they will act as an example for the rest of the world! Read more. | Temporary Reprieve for UK's Badgers The UK is putting its controversial plans to kill thousands of wild badgers on hold until summer 2013. Members of Parliament voted for the government to implement more sustainable and humane solutions. Hopefully, this decision will make it harder for the government to justify these culls in the future. Read more. | Six Bulls Saved From Agriculture Fair The "Running of the Bulls" in Toronto was canceled after protests from animal rights activists. Officials planned to force the 2,000-pound animals to run through the streets surrounded on either side by handlers on horseback and a screaming crowd.
